Batman’s 75 Birthday!

Holy Batday! 75 yrs and still kicking it!

Hard to believe how much the world has changed since The Batman first appeared in Detective Comics #27, published in May 1939. Oh, and notice how the cover refers to him as The Batman. That’s how he was known at first, and how I’ll always think of him.

Though the Batman comic book was initially launched as a quarterly publication, it later became a bimonthly series through the late 1950’s, after which it became a monthly publication and has remained so since. The original series ended in 2011 and was relaunched with a new first issue.

One of my favorite ‘reboots’ is ‘The Dark Knight Returns’ by Frank Miller – a classic for sure.

Happy Birthday Batman! Here’s hoping you’re still kicking it 75 more years from now 🙂
