Good or bad? Hmm… this is a tough one.

‘It seems like a good idea, but I have a feeling that all this ‘free’access to music will only make things worse for indie artists.’-Blabpipe

Open access to more music than you can ever listen to in a lifetime – and it’s all free. The idea is that they’ll pay the artists, but do they really? I’m an independent artist with 4 albums on there… and I’m still waiting to get paid.

On the flip side however, I listen every day – and it is an awesome service. I do love being able to hear new music, right away and it’s all free.

So, if you read this, and have an opinion – feel free to comment. I’ll leave it open because I’m really curious what other music lovers think.

Oh, and if you use Spotify – be sure to catch Blabpipe on there:

Personally, I love Spotify because it’s the only way I can access such a wide range of music for free. And I find it easy to navigate around Spotify, so that’s another plus. But then, I can say that because it’s not MY music that’s on there. Like you say, it depends whether you’re the artist or the listener.
